The ID4 will be smaller than the Tiguan. The crossover is going to be an all-electric model that will take on Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona. However, this doesn’t mean the company is giving up on other classes, such as sedans. Instead of the well-known MQB platform, the carmaker will introduce an all-new MEB architecture. Even when larger SUVs come out, these will use the same concept as the 2021 VW ID4.
There is already a model based on the MEB platform. It is ID3, the first of a breed. Volkswagen is not unveiling too many details, but we already know its approximate range and styling. However, the release date is not set yet, although many fans expect it in production before 2021.

2021 VW ID4 USA Release Date
The new 2021 VW ID4 is based on the Crozz concept, presented some while ago. Still, Motor1 has exclusive info about the new model. The ID4 should debut next season and the Volkswagen will build its crossover in Chattanooga, Tennessee plants. If that is true, chiefs confirmed the sales will start in the summer of 2021.

Specs, Range
Under the bonnet of the ID4 crossover will be an all-electric motor. Rumors say the vehicle will be able to offer nearly 300 horsepower. The small model is going to have a high range of electric ride, probably over 250 miles. Just for comparison, Kia Niro returns 240 miles, Tesla Model 3 goes 250 miles in a single charge, and Chevy Bolt is good for 238 miles.

What is Crozz Concept?
The company introduced the ID Crozz platform in its homeland in 2017. It didn’t take too long before the first rumors about the production started to swirl. Now, we already plan the release date of the 2021 VW ID4. The ID3 hatchback is in production since 2019. Future models in the ID Series include ID1 car, and two small crossovers – ID2 and ID4.
