The third-generation 2019 VW Touareg is almost ready to be released. According to spy shots that are circling on the internet, the German manufacturer is testing a newly redesigned model. The new Touareg will hit the European markets this year, and U.S. dealerships will have to wait for 2019.
The gasoline, diesel and hybrid refreshed engines are offered, and new MLB platform will make this SUV lighter as a result. Interior is packed with plenty of new latest features and the exterior design suffered some change for an instance. Basically, Touareg is a comfortable and large SUV, and while its name is odd, the driving specifics aren’t.
2019 VW Touareg is More Sharp, with More Stamina
The approaching 2019 VW Touareg will keep its current dimensions and proportions. As the vehicle is moving through generations, they become slightly bigger, but there are no changes to new Volkswagen’s vehicle in that segment. The reason is maybe that the German company is already making a larger, seven-seat SUV.
Speaking of styling, the front grille is larger and its flanked by new headlamps. Running lights are LED are are C-shaped, with sporty bumper included below them. The taillights at the rear will also feature some decrease, and the rear bumper suffered more chrome work. Spy shots didn’t help us to find out more about the exterior design.
2019 VW Touareg Interior Enhancement
The upcoming model 2019 VW Touareg will feature more storage space inside the cabin and it will offer a slightly bigger trunk area. Headroom and legroom are also enhanced, especially at the rear seats. Headroom is better now thanks to a lower seating position. New MLB platform is also helpful when packing stuff.
The next-generation of VW Touareg will borrow some features from the T-Prime Concept. The same touchscreen that is also in current one is in the center of a dashboard. Both dashboard and instrument cluster gained more modern design with new high-tech features. Stuff like adaptive cruise control and automated emergency braking are still optional.
2019 VW Touareg Engine and Associated Details
The 2019 VW Touareg will get under the hood both gasoline and diesel options. In the U.S. the sale will start with a new 3.0-liter V6. The new V6 engine will burst 215 Hp and 270 HP. However, we also expect larger V8 diesel in near future.
2019 VW Touareg plug-in hybrid GTE
The newest Touareg will feature the plug-in hybrid GTE model. This unit will mainly come in Europe and China, and it will also become available in U.S. dealerships later.
The plug-in hybrid GTE model comes with a 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged engine with the small electric motor that will be able to travel all-electric 30 miles. All engines coming with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system.
2019 VW Touareg Price and Release Date
The 2019 Touareg is more expensive than the outgoing model, thanks to a redesigned body, new technology features, and engines, so this SUV could cost around $43,000.
The new Touareg is coming in three trim levels, Sport, Wolfsburg and Executive. The Executive models could cost over $61,000. The biggest rivals are Acura MDX, Audi Q7, Lincoln MKX, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Lexus RX and BMW X5.
