The Volkswagen Company is reported that is working on the new midsize 3-row SUV model aka 2019 VW Atlas. The attractive SUV from German manufacturer offers a luxurious tech-friendly cabin that is spacious with easy access to the third row.
This model is also the only midsize SUV that can give you the Euro-inspired driving experience with seven-seat comfortability.
2019 VW Atlas – Elegant and Clean Look
The new 2019 WV Atlas will have an elegant and clean look, boxy shape and comfortable cabin. The changes are evident in the front fascia, rear end with few minor changes and interior. As per images, this model will have a lot common with CrosBle Concept that is presented in late 2013 at Detroit auto show. It comes with trims S, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium. Each of trims will be well-equipped.
The first trim S that is also a base trim will come with a Rearview Camera, 6.5-inch touchscreen App-Connect w/Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Stainless steel roof rails and Privacy glass. There is also a Cruise control, power mirrors, 2-zone climate control, Bluetooth and much more.
However, the SE trim that is $3000+ more expensive will come with a package that includes Blind spot monitor Keyless access, V-Tex leatherette upholstery, 10-way power heated front seats and eight-speaker sound system.
The third one trim SEL will cost you around $9000+ more. This one is packaged with all staff that S and SE have. Additionally, it will have 8-way power passenger seat, Easy Open liftgate Factory-installed Tow Hitch (V6), Memory function driver’s seat and Park Pilot.
The final one and most equipment trim SEL Premium comes with big 12.3-inch Digital Cockpit navigation, Heated/ventilated front seats with leather, premium audio system, Park Assist and area view camera. Also, this package includes adaptive cruise control, 3-zone climate control, power liftgate panoramic sunroof, remote start, 115-volt power outlet, rain-sensing windshield wipers and an 8-speaker audio system.
2019 VW Atlas – Engine, Gearbox and Fuel Economy
The 2019 VW Atlas will offer two engine variants with four modes Eco, Normal and Sport. The base engine will produce 276-horsepower and will come with a 3.6-liter V6 engine. Furthermore, it will be connected to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It comes standard with front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive. Fuel economy will be reduced to 18/25 mpg (FWD) and 17/23 mpg (AWD) in the city/highway.
The other one engine is turbocharged that produce around 235-horsepower. It comes with 2.0-liter engine and 258 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm. Furthermore, it will be also paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This engine will give decent fuel economy in the city/highway of 22/26 mpg.
2019 VW Atlas – Manufacturer Retail Price, Launch Date and Rivals
The 2019 VW Atlas will have a starting price of around $31,425 for the FWD base S model that comes with the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine.
The top trim or the SEL Premium will easily reach the price of $49,415. The launch date is expected in the middle of 2018. All models of this SUV will have 6-year or 72,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The new 2019 VW Atlas will compete with Honda Pilot, Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain and others.
