Prepare for the new era in Subaru’s life in the USA. Its flagship models will get hybrid engines. The first of them is Forester, which we will get in 2021 as an e-Boxer configuration. The crossover offers only a conventional petrol unit in the US. However, the 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid will be the stunning move for the Japanese carmaker.
The vehicle is already available in some markets, such as Australia and the UK. Still, buyers are not impressed, since the company didn’t pay too much attention to styling and features, but only the drivetrain. Well, the 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid will compete with Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav4 and we will see if the crossover can match their mileage.

E-Boxer Drivetrain
When you ask someone about Subaru, they will tell you about their 4×4 drive system and incredible Boxer engines. Well, the fact is that the lower gravitation center allows a better balance and traction. Whatsoever, the carmaker takes another step by hybridizing the unit and delivering the E-Boxer configuration.
A 2.0-liter flat-four engine is the main source of power. The company pairs it with an electric motor. Together, these are good for 35 mpg. By next year, the 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid for the US market could get even more miles to compete with Rav4 and CR-V, both returning over 40 mpg.

2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid Is a Bit Pricey
The cost of the 2021 Subaru Forester Hybrid is hefty. In the UK, this model costs over 35,000 pounds. Converted to US dollars, it is more than $45,000. Toyota is selling its Rav4 Hybrid for nearly $20k less. So, Subaru will have to do something about the price of its newest addition.
Release Date
The US division of the Japanese carmaker is still not unveiling plans about the vehicle. We believe the crossover is arriving in the second half of the current season and the sales will start early in 2021.
