The second generation of the new Range Rover Evoque will be updated next year and arrive as 2021 YM. Changes will be cosmetic, but we also expect the update under the hood. The subcompact luxury crossover drew a lot of attention, so there is no surprise why JLR is already testing some novelties on it. Well, the 2021 Land Rover Evoque will fulfill something we expected from its predecessors – it will deliver a hybrid drivetrain.

The 2021 Range Rover Evoque can still use the features introduced with the new generation in 2019. The subcompact crossover is one of the most luxurious in the class. Also, one of the most expensive. However, you will taste the highest levels of comfort and safety.

Pros and Cons

The 2021 Range Rover Evoque is a premium model with a lot of equipment included even for the entry-level trims. Definitely, its shape will draw attention. Although small, designers perfectly crafter the chassis, which will be even more aggressive in 2021. On the other hand, lighter materials are going to improve fuel economy, as the final result of a diet. Two different drivetrain setups are already part of the lineup, and the new hybrid system will improve the offer. High-end trim levels will come with 300 horsepower. For the lovers of convertible crossovers, the Land Rover Evoque is one of the rare vehicles with such configuration.

Well, this might be a downside of the model, if you are watching from the practicality side. In the matter of fact, not all features are so functional on the Evoque, and their premium characteristic will raise the price. Also, the cost is pretty high for this class. Finally, we could get more space in the back row, since buyers are complaining about the head- and legroom.

2021 Range Rover Evoque Specs

Under the hood of the 2021 Range Rover Evoque will lay the same 2.0-liter turbocharged powertrain. Engineers are pairing it with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The base version will come with 240 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. The same unit can be tuned to crunch 285 hp and 295 pound-feet of twisting power. The crossover sprints 0-60 mph in 6 or 7 seconds, depending on the configuration. However, the engine is making a lot of noise and vibrations, although the company installed some cancelation features.

JLR is installing the latest all-wheel drive system for the 2021 Range Rover Evoque. This one, with the terrain-management system, will definitely improve the off-road performance. However, don’t expect too much – have in mind this is a subcompact crossover. Well, the good thing is that you will be able to select snow, sand, and mud mode, and each wheel is getting power when needed. This model is not going to take you out from extreme situations, but Evoque can get into the water, or crawl over some off-road obstacles without problems.
