Today we found some new rumors about the best-selling crossover SUV in the United States. The 2021 Nissan Rogue will start the new generation. The current version dates back from 2014 and in the compact market, the things are changing pretty frequently. Interior and exterior are getting a new shape.
We will find some similarities with the new Rogue Sport model. What’s more, Nissan is preparing the new hybrid version. The old one dates from 2017 season. Now, the company is ready to overtake the market with the new look and drivetrains.
After the redesign, the last edition of the Nissan Rogue achieved over 400k sales. It is the second straight year that vehicle is getting such records. Now, with the new generation on the way and the hybrid engine, the carmaker hopes to go up to 500,000 sold units. We don’t count the new Rogue Sport there.
Release Date – When Does The 2021 Nissan Rogue Come Out?
Nissan is not launching the edition for 2020 season. The company is buying some time to develop the perfect crossover for the following year. Well, they don’t want just to keep the leading position in the segment, but to improve its vehicle. There are a lot of reasons why the Rogue is the best-selling crossover, and the company wants to add even more options.
The new 2021 Nissan Rogue will be available next season. We could see it in Detroit, at NAIAS. The new format of the show is now set for summer. Nissan is not making big announcements yet, but it seems like the Rogue is going to be the star of the lineup for this show.
New Hybrid Configuration
Hybrid technology is something that makes Nissan’s vehicles different from others. Well, the carmaker is producing the best-selling electric car ever, Leaf. Now, more hybrid vehicles are in the offer and the new Rogue will be one of them.
Currently, the crossover is pairing a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric battery for a total output of 175 hp. However, the gas mileage is the reason why you are buying this vehicle since the combined fuel economy is 34 mpg. Toyota Rav4 Hybrid is offering 39 mpg and that is the challenge for the 2021 Nissan Rogue Hybrid.
The new system will use larger electric motors. It is possible that 2021 Rogue goes PHEV and the crossover could come with some electric range. Don’t expect huge distances, since this is going to be just a bonus feature.
Petrol Engine Specs
Under the hood of the standard crossover will be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit. It is available for all trim levels, while only top models are offering hybrid setup. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is going to produce 170 hp and 175 pound-feet of torque.
The compact crossover is using a CVT transmission and AWD works perfectly with it. However, the base setup includes a front-wheel drive. Normal, Eco, and Sport drive modes are also available. Fuel economy for the petrol engine is going up to 33 mpg for highways.
What is 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport?
The new model for the 2019 season brought some interesting design solutions which could be available for the standard Rogue. The Rogue Sport is a slightly smaller crossover that fits between Rogue and subcompact Kicks.
All companies are expanding their offers and in the future, we will see more and more of these sub-class models. Smaller engine and better fuel economy are advantages you are getting with this kind of vehicle.

2021 Nissan Rogue Prices
The new 2021 Nissan Rogue won’t increase the price from the current level. The base model is available from $25,000. For the reliability, performance, and all other options, this price is more than affordable. All-wheel drive adds around $1,500, as well as the mid-rang SV package. Hybrid drivetrain, AWD, and this package raise the cost to $30,000. Top of the range models is the SL. It will start at $33,000, jump to $39,000 for the fully-loaded hybrid AWD version.
