Nissan is replacing Juke crossover with a new model – Kicks. But, the legacy of this vehicle remains. It is one of the reasons why such rides are so popular. Besides that, the Japanese carmaker is not totally removing Juke from the major market in the world. Buyers in the United States will still be able to purchase its best version – 2019 Nissan Juke Nismo.

This badge already shows what to expect from this subcompact CUV. Performance and visual appearance are getting a significant boost. However, the 2019 Nissan Juke Nismo RS will keep its distinctive look and shapes of the exterior. We cannot say the crossover will live for much longer since the company is planning to replace it in 2020, as they did it with the base model. The Nissan Kicks Nismo could be a substitute.

2019 Nissan Juke Nismo Specs

The 2019 Nissan Juke Nismo is going to use the same setup as it had two years ago. An edition for 2017 is the last model we saw, and the comeback is not bringing too much excitement. From a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine we will get 215 horses and 210 lb-ft of torque when using a manual transmission. The alternative is a six-pace CVT gearbox. However, this configuration drops numbers to 211 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. With transmission pick, buyers will get either front-wheel drive with a manual, or all-wheel drive with the automatic gear change.

Fuel Economy

The base engine is also turbocharged, but it creates less power and torque. We could expect the significant gas mileage bonus for that, but it is not the case with 2019 Nissan Juke Nismo. The crossover returns only 1 mpg worse fuel economy than the standard model. In urban areas, the Juke Nismo RS can return 27 mpg and on highway 31 mpg. The automatic transmission makes 25/29 mpg mainly because of an all-wheel drive.

2019 Nissan Juke Nismo 0-60

The 2019 Nissan Juke Nismo will need less than 6.5 seconds to sprint 0-60 mph. European models are using different configurations, making the CUV slower. In this market, the Juke Nismo RS takes 7 seconds for the same goal.

2019 Nissan Juke Nismo vs Nissan Kicks

Nissan decided to replace Juke with the smallest and the most affordable crossover. It also downsized the vehicle, and the new wheels are returning the best gas mileage in its family. On the other hand, it lacks power, since the Kicks is creating 125 hp. That is the same 1.6-liter unit that produces power both for Juke and Juke Nismo RS, but without turbochargers. So, the new CUV can only take the same unit the 2019 Nissan Juke Nismo is going to use and install it under the hood of its 2020 year model. If that happens, Kicks Nismo is going to deliver the same amount of power. But, it would be the fresh vehicle, though.
