The smallest crossover by the leading German carmaker is about to present the new look. Not only that 2021 Mercedes GLA250 is debuting as an all-new model, but also its performance-oriented version. The AMG 35 GLA crossover will boost the power outputs to 220 horsepower. According to spy photos, the small vehicle is growing, but it still takes the position right at the bottom of the size charts.
There are already details about the performance, and the crossover is taking them to the new level inspired by the sedan A-Class. The interior and exterior are also borrowing some solutions from its closest siblings.

2021 Mercedes GLA250 Specs
Under the hood of the 2021 Mercedes GLA250 is a 2.0-liter turbocharged powerplant. The unit is good for 220 hp, which is a push from the current level (208 hp). Torque remains the same, 258 lb-ft. Well, the luxury crossover consumes only premium gasoline for maximum performance. The engine is paired with a seven-speed auto gearbox and shift paddles. Front-wheel drive is standard and AWD comes optional.

AMG 35 Model
The AMG department tunes the same engine to produce 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. This is enough for the GLA crossover to sprint to 60 mph in just 5 seconds. It will beat BMW X1 M and Audi Q3 RS models. Max speed of Mercedes’ crossover is 155 mph and the AMG version uses a special SpeedShift DCT transmission.
Besides the mechanical upgrades, the 2021 Mercedes AMG35 GLA will add a 10-inch touchscreen display, larger wheels, and special ambient lights. Night Package, sport suspension, and aero suite are also part of the AMG model.

When Will the New GLA250 Come Out?
The company announced that the new vehicle is arriving in the summer. We believe the premiere could happen at NAIAS, although Mercedes skipped the last show. After the debut of the base version, we will see the AMG, which is likely to introduce itself at LA Auto Show. The price should stay put.
