We need to wait the summer until the first models of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator appear in showrooms. The 2020 Lincoln Aviator, a baby Navigator, is a brand-new model in the lineup. It replaces MKT whose sales started to slow down. Also, all Lincoln vehicles with MK- nomenclature are being replaced. MKC becomes Corsair, MKX is now Nautilus, while the last standing model is MKZ. Well, this one gets a replacement very soon.

The company already unveiled almost all about the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. We even have the pricing list. However, fresh trims and options could be added in the last minute before the start of sales. Definitely, Aviator Black Label is going to be the most luxurious SUV in the lineup. We can compare it to Navigator, which is larger and more expensive. The new mid-size SUV will offer seven seats, excellent GVWR and MPG numbers, as well as the hybrid engine. A lot of build possibilities are waiting for buyers of this premium SUV.

Pricing – How Much Will The 2020 Lincoln Aviator Cost?

It is already possible to build a configuration on the official Lincoln web site (you can do it HERE). Well, the company is still leaving some options for the final release day. The 2020 Lincoln Aviator pricing list says the entry-level model starts at $51,100. That is $1,600 more than the MKT. Besides Standard, Aviator’s predecessor offered Reserve version. In this case, the price is $4,000 above the previous one. The new SUV also adds Grand Touring version, priced at $68,800, while the most expensive model is 2020 Aviator Black Label with initial cost from $77,700.

Lincoln Navigator vs Aviator

Navigator is the legend and the flagship model. The sales of this vehicle are so good, that Ford as the parent company, plans to boost production of its full-size luxury SUV. Most things you can see on this full-size SUV, you won’t find elsewhere. Well, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is the closest thing. Compared to Navigator, the new SUV is shorter (overall length 193 in compared to 210 inches, wheelbase 113 inches to 122 in). The 2020 Aviator is going to use a turbocharged V6 engine, like its larger sibling. A twin-turbo system will create 400 hp, while Navigator is delivering 50 ponies more.

The new Aviator completely changes the appearance of its predecessor. Everything is new, but the similarities with Navigator are evident. From the front fascia to the rear end and cabin, we can find details unveiling the same design language. Still, the upcoming mid-size SUV adds few cool features that will definitely be part of the next Navigator.

Specs

So, under the hood of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator lays a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine. It is capable to produce 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. We can find this unit in the engine room of the Lincoln Continental sedan. Fuel economy is not the strong side of this powerful machine. It will return only 20 mpg. The SUV is heavier, so miles per gallon output is going even worse.

Still, so much power will offer great towing capacity numbers. Reserve model will get a tow package that will make the Aviator haul over 6,000 pounds. This GVWR is not among the best in the class. Audi Q7 offers 7,700 pounds, and towing capacity of the Lexus GX is 6,500 lbs. Lincoln Continental needs 5.4 seconds to sprint 0-60 mph. We already said that the 2020 Aviator SUV is heavier, so it will be reflected on the acceleration. This model will need slightly more time for 0-60 sprint.

Hybrid

The same 3.0-liter engine is there for the 2020 Lincoln Aviator Hybrid. Electric motors slotted between the drivetrain and transmission will add 50 hp more, while the torque goes up to 600 lb-ft. with such specs, the Aviator Hybrid will be competitive with Durango SRT as one of the most powerful SUVs on the market. A ten-speed automatic gearbox replaces a six-pace transmission. The hybrid system will be available only with an AWD system and Grand Touring or Black Label trim levels. However, it adds $10k over the starting price for the Black Label package.

2020 Lincoln Aviator Design

When we compare the 2020 Lincoln Aviator to its predecessor, MKT, we wouldn’t say these two are related. Well, the old SUV looks pretty old, although designers used an odd approach. On the other hand, the new Aviator took a safe bet – it looks like baby Navigator. New front fascia introduced a new grille. This part makes things a lot different. Of course, designers installed new headlights, bumpers, air vents are also larger. The size of the wheels remains the same. Both Aviator and MKT are using 19-inchers in their standard offer. Besides that, LED headlamps and a lot of sensors around the SUV will make a ride more comfortable and safer.

Interior

The leather is all over the cockpit. Seats, steering wheel, upholstery. Heated is there for front seats, while the upper trim levels are also offering ventilating. Co-Pilot360 package brings the latest safety technology, including lane departure warning, blind-spot, and cross-traffic alerts, and a rear-view camera. Hands-free liftgate and quad-zone climate system are available for Reserve model.

Black Label

As every new Lincoln, the upcoming 2020 Aviator introduces the unique Black Label trim. Ultra-bright machined 22-inch wheels are drawing attention. Exclusive themes and features are available with this suite. 30-way adjustable seats, Revel 3D audio system, additional options for Co-Pilot360 safety system, are just some of the upgrades waiting for buyers of the Black Label SUV.
