The Japanese carmaker is dominating in the mid-size market. The 2021 Lexus NX 300 is going to establish this company as the leading luxury brand in the crossover class. BMW launched the new generation of the X3 model, but Lexus sold more old NX crossovers last year. With the new version on the way, we can easily predict the same outcome as for the mid-size realm, where RX is dominant.
The first leaked photos are showing the new model will be based on the LF-1 Limitless concept. It will allow the 2021 Lexus NX to be more versatile, possibly coming out as the all-electric unit in the future. Meanwhile, we have to be happy with the hybrid, and very likely PHEV model.

Changes For the Upcoming Season
The new NX will improve a few things that bothered owners before. However, the huge update will bring an all-new model with a futuristic design and more space inside the cockpit. The futuristic design of this crossover is getting older and designers are ready to take everything to the next level. The LF-1 offers some interesting solutions, and there is no doubt that people in Lexus are going to exploit the existing concept.

2021 Lexus NX 300 is Getting Plug-In Hybrid System
One of the advantages of the existing NX was its efficient hybrid system. Still, this vehicle lacked power while returning 33/30 mpg. Toyota, as an owner of the Lexus brand, could borrow the plug-in hybrid system we will see on the new Rav4, which will make the NX the top model without true competition. Still, hybrid versions are not the same, with Rav4 returning 42 mpg. But, there is a sense to expect improvements in efficiency and total power output.
If the plug-in system takes place on the new 2021 Lexus NX 300, we can also expect some electric range from its battery. It won’t be special, but 20-30 miles of pure electric driving would be a great help when running out of gasoline.
