Infiniti launched another teaser of its newest project – coupe crossover. Besides the sloped roofline and the name, we don’t have too many other clues. The 2021 Infiniti QX55 will be a surprise and the new competitor to BMW’s M lineup.
According to the nameplate, the Infiniti QX55 will be something between QX50 and QX60. This is the second appearance for a teaser image. Both times, we didn’t get too much.
Looking at other projects, we can find out the company is going strong to the new season. First, chiefs announced that the 2020 lineup will be unchanged because they are focusing on electric drivetrains. Then, there are new concepts – Monograph for large SUVs, and Ariya for Nissan crossovers. Now, we can add another one – QX55 coupe crossover.
Is 2021 Infiniti QX55 Electric Crossover?
The teaser image is not showing too much. Well, the company is going to save the drivetrain specs for the last moment. But, before the release date of the 2021 Infiniti QX55, we will know more about the type of the engine. Or motor. As said, the company plans an electric raid for next season. Most of the 2020 lineup is already available, and there are no changes in current models. One of the biggest downsides was a lack of hybrid units. The new QX55 is the right chance for the company to shine and set the challenge.

This is the first time we are seeing the premium carmaker delivering a coupe-like crossover SUV. The current lineup offers classic chassis. Well, this segment is expanding and the coupe SUV is the next step in evolution. The new 2021 Infiniti QX55 will be based on the QX50 compact crossover. The vehicle will get a turbo-four engine and probably the Level 4 of autonomous drive. The sales are about to start in the summer of 2020, according to sources.
