The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is officially released. After numerous rumors, the production model is being tested. First impressions are available, and it seems like this model is better than its predecessor. Well, it changed the name from Hyundai Santa Fe Sport to only Santa Fe. Redesign of the interior presented many changes. Hyundai Santa Fe is going to use front wheel drive as standard, and SUV’s seating capacity, for now, is five. Soon, a larger Santa Fe XL edition with the third row should arrive.

The vehicle is bolder than before. The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is not so aggressive. However, strong appearance won’t leave anyone apathetic. Fans will be especially happy with all the changes. You might not love the boxy look of the new crossover, but it is functional and aesthetic.

The new SUV is a two-row vehicle. However, Hyundai will introduce a three-row version later. It will probably be Santa Fe XL.

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will use a front-wheel drive by default. On the other hand, all-wheel drive is optional. The SUV is getting different engines for specific markets. So, buyers in the US will choose between a 2.4-liter I-4 and 2.0-liter turbo-four powertrains. The first one is the base model, with outputs of 185 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Another one is offering more power, 235 horses total. Also, torque is at the higher level with 260 lb-ft.

Santa Fe Diesel Specs

Last, but not the least attractive engine is turbo-diesel. A 2.2-liter drivetrain is capable to produce 190 hp and 322 lb-ft of twisting power. Other markets, including the homeland of 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, will get a 2.0-liter diesel unit. However, the company didn’t unveil specs of this mill.

The new SUV will start a next, fourth generation of the crossover. We could see its reveal at Geneva Auto show. However, it will take some while until the vehicle arrives in dealerships. Previous generations of Hyundai Santa Fe SUV lasted for five years, and the Korean company plans this one to keep for a similar period of time. This SUV will probably join new Tucson when it comes to salons.
