N model is not the only novelty we will see on the new Tucson. The Korean carmaker is being busy developing the new drive system. Rumors say it is just a matter of time when will the 2021 Hyundai Tucson hybrid step into the market. Teaser photos and spy videos are here, but none of them unveils any detail about the upcoming crossover.
That made us dig further and we found some pieces of info at Indian website Zigwheels. They claim the new vehicle is coming somewhere in 2020, while the edition for this part of the world will be slightly late. On the other hand, we don’t know if the site is reliable and if these details are verified by the company. Well, Autoblog is a trusted source, and they claim the 2021 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is more likely than any other version.
2021 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Specs
While most sources are still looking for the details about specifications, we can guess that the new 2021 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid will get a similar configuration as the new Sonata. Well, the roof solar recharge system is not so likely to happen. That is not all for the new Sonata since the company announced additional savings for standard recharging. We can’t compare specifications of the crossover SUV with the Sonata car since Tucson is going to be heavier. The total output of the system is unknown yet. The petrol unit is capable to produce 150 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque, while electric motors are adding 50 hp and 160 lb-ft.
Release Date and Price, Competition
The new 2021 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is arriving next fall or winter. It is the right time, since Honda has also launched its CR-V Hybrid for the USA, and we expect the same from Ford Escape. The current leader in the market is Toyota Rav4 and it returns 41 mpg. Hyundai is ready to challenge these vehicles with the upcoming hybrid and N Sport performance model.
