After releases of the standard offer for the new Santa Fe, the Koran carmaker Hyundai is going to add two more trims for this lineup. These are 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL and 2019 Santa Fe Sport. Each of them will come with special upgrades, which will make them different from other levels. However, the drivetrain is the from the same lineup.
Both 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL and 2019 Santa Fe Sport are there to expand the interest for the growing segment. The SUVs are something new on the US soil. Also, Hyundai will add some versatility and challenge the other car companies. The XL and Sport trims expand its offer, which is very important nowadays.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL Changes
Well, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL is the same crossover SUV we got used to it. The vehicle comes with three rows of seats, and that is the major difference from 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. More changes will come in the upcoming season since the company paid attention to the redesign of another model. So, we will have to wait for a bit longer to see a big update on the XL version. Until then, it will remain a mid-size SUV that can accommodate eight passengers.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Redesign
Contrary to the XL version, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport model is coming redesigned. Now, it is called only Santa Fe. Also, the modifications on the vehicle are significant. But there is room for the comeback of Sport trim level.
As its name says, the SUV is going to be sportier than the rest of the lineup. Furthermore, the interior gets the special treatment. Premium cloth for seats with a heating function and some other extras will make a riding impression sportier.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Specs
Under the hood of the hood of the XL model will be a 2.0-liter engine. This turbocharged four-cylinder mill is capable to produce around 240 horses and 260 lb-ft of torque. The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport drops a 2.4-liter naturally-aspirated engine from the offer. Also, the alternative is going to be a 3.3-liter V-6 from the previous edition of Santa Fe.
The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is also going to use this V-6 mill. However, it is the only option for this version. Later, the SUV might add a hybrid engine to its lineup, but that is still questionable. By then, the Sport SUV can count on 290 horses coming out of the V-6 drivetrain.
2019 Hyundai Santa Fe XL and Sport Prices
The base Santa Fe SUV for 2019 costs $25,500. There are also six other trim levels, so the price of the most expensive vehicle goes $12,000 higher. The larger wagon with three rows of seats will start at around $32,000. That is the same price of its predecessor. On the other hand, the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is almost the same unit, with slight upgrades. These modifications won’t make the SUV go too much higher. We believe this package will be available from $27,000.
