The new subcompact crossover SUV 2019 Hyundai Kona with its cool and styling design will be for sure the good-looking vehicle. This model will be built on the all-new platform architecture, that will go against Jeep Renegade and Mazda CX-3. One more model that will be on the same new platform is the Kia Stonic.
Furthermore, the company is planning to expand its entire SUV and crossover line by 2020.
2019 Hyundai Kona – Good Looking and Unusual Design
As we look at the design of the Jeep Cherokee model we will see that the new 2019 Hyundai Kona have similarities. The LED lights, headlamp and other body addenda will be same designed at the first glance. Also, the new model will have the semi-floating roof. It will be also available in same body color of crossover or in all black. We also expect in future a similar lighting style and grille design on the other upcoming Hyundai SUVs.
However, the new model will come with an adjustable driving mode (Normal, Sport, and Eco). The manufacturer also says that the Kona model with its overall width of 70.9 inches, 61.0 inches height and a 102.4-inch wheelbase make the crossover ideal for city tight driving. However, if we look at the numbers of Tucson model, the Kona is just 2.7 inches shorter which makes its cabin very spacious. It comes with decent 19 cubic feet of cargo volume.
Interior Styling
The clean inside of the 2019 Hyundai Kona is quite attractive. Furthermore, it comes with attractive design details, leather-trimmed seats and seatbelts with other colors. Also, there is a good combination of buttons and knobs for easy reach. The main screen has a sharp 7.0-inch touchscreen that is standard or an 8.0-inch that is optional. However, we also expect in this year model adaptive cruise control that previous models did not have.
2019 Hyundai Kona – Comes with two engine variants
The new 2019 Hyundai Kona we expect to come to the U.S. with two gasoline variants. The base one engine that will power crossover is the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine that will run on Atkinson cycle. This powerful engine will give us the max output of 147-hp at 6,200 rpm. As for the torque, it will be 132-lb. ft at 4,500 rpm. The engine will be mated to a conventional 6-speed automatic transmission.
The second one and optional engine are expected to be company’s turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four. If this is true, this model will make 175 HP and 195 lb-ft. It will be connected with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. In this moment we don’t have official numbers of fuel economy, but from the manufacturer, it will be exposed at the beginning of 2018.
As from some news, there will be a few more engines that will be presented to global markets. The word is of the turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine and a 1.6-liter turbo-diesel four.
2019 Hyundai Kona – Expected Arrive, Cost and Challengers
The officials at Hyundai has hinted that will 2019 Hyundai Kona arrive sometime in the spring of 2018. If we look at some similar crossovers in this segment like Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-3 we expect its price tag to be around $20,000. Stay tuned for more upcoming news about this model.
