The approaching 2019 Honda HR-V is a subcompact-crossover SUV that offers more interior room, better ground clearance than the normal traditional car. It is also an all-weather capable vehicle with great fuel economy and low price. No one can’t hide the fact that the HR-V is for real a subcompact SUV guided by a slogan “the smaller the better”. However, new Honda’s model provides more interior room than Nissan Juke or Mazda CX-3.
HR-V will hit the dealerships with plenty of choices and options. The customers can choose between front and all-wheel drive and manual or automatic transmission. On top of that, new color Aegean Blue Metallic is added and a new wheel design is an option on higher trims.
2019 Honda HR-V Design Features and Colors
We already mentioned a new Aegean Blue Metallic paint color and a new wheel design. Sadly, those are basically the only exterior changes on 2019 Honda HR-V. Even though the HR-V is one of the longest models in the crossover segment, it doesn’t feel like a large car, especially when you look at it from behind.
Looking at new HR-V from the driver’s seat and you’ll get a feeling that you are inside the regular car. Thanks to a sloping roof and a rear window work that slopes even further, the sportier and coupe-like feel is present. HR-V is riding on 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and it offers a sliding sunroof as well. This tiny hauler also includes a rooftop bike carrier. This stylish crossover will be available in eight colors:
- Misty Green Pearl
- Aegean Blue Metallic
- Mulberry Metallic
- Crystal Black Pearl
- Milano Red
- Modern Steel Metallic
- Lunar Silver Metallic
- White Orchid Pearl
Updates in Other Markets
Honda announced that most of the changes we will see on the US model will take place on HR-V models in other markets. This update includes an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the first time in some countries. Nevertheless, the popularity of HR-V is raising every year, so this couldn’t be a surprise. Also, the exterior could bring some new features and parts, such as the larger bumper and LED headlights. Few colors will complete the update for European and Asian customers.
2019 Honda HR-V Interior that looks Classy
The interior of 2019 Honda HR-V looks classy. The visibility is more than good, and passenger space is above average. Front seat provides enough head and legroom, and while rear seat legroom is good, we cannot say that for headroom, thanks to a sloping roofline.
Front seats are supportive and long trips won’t be a problem. However, no lumbar support is available and no power adjustments. For the entertainment, this SUV comes with Stereo AM/FM Audio System that has 160 Watts and 4 powerful speakers, also there is MP3/auxiliary input jack and great 5″ color LCD screen. We must add Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, Bluetooth streaming audio, Radio Data System and Speed-Sensitive Volume Control.
Rear seats are similar to the front ones, but thanks to a lack of bolstering long journeys could become a problem. On the other hand, the quality of materials and satisfying. Tan leather seats are available on higher trim levels, and all models own an LCD interface. The buttons are well placed and are easy to use and the whole cabin layout is more than pleasing. It comes in two color options Black and Gray. This colors will be available in all trims like the exterior ones.

Under the hood of the 2019 Honda HR-V, a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine is placed. This drivetrain makes 141 HP and 130 lb-ft of torque and it uses a 6-speed manual transmission.
Also, a CVT automatic transmission is available as an option. Manual gearbox offers only front-wheel drive setup. Even though this subcompact crossover SUV isn’t made for an off-roading, all-wheel drive can help with that, especially in snowy conditions or dusty roads.
2019 Honda HR-V Fuel Economy
The new 2019 Honda HR-V model like the current one model will provide decent fuel economy. In the city/highway it`s EPA rated for the manual transmission 25/33 mpg.
However, with the front wheel drive that is standard and with automatic transmission it gives 28/34 mpg. The last one is an all-wheel-drive system with automatic transmission 27/31 mpg.
