The new Honda CR-V is coming to Europe. It is already available for US buyers, but now it heads overseas. The company already announced few things for 2019 CR-V. Well, if fans in Europe were jealous about it, now it is time for changes. The third row of seats is very likely for the new SUV. If that is not enough, the 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid will cause the US customers to mumble.
This is an official statement. As always, this had been the bait we swallowed and now we want more information. Of course, Honda is not providing details yet. Although some info indicated we could see it in Geneva, the carmaker had no such plans. We are still waiting eagerly for the 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid.
2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid Release Date in US and Canada
Shortly after the debut in Europe, we expect to see the 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid in the United States. Of course, buyers in Canada are also expecting to see the new crossover. We believe the vehicle is going to arrive at the same time, just after the appearance in European dealerships. However, we will see how buyers will react and if there are some differences between models on each side of the ocean. Some experts believe the CR-V Hybrid is coming to the Old Continent early in 2019.
2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid Engine, Specs
The first details about the 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid indicate that the system will use a 2.0-liter I-4 engine. This unit pairs the special hybrid combination of two motors. Honda developed it, so there is no need to install the transmission. This is the same hybrid used by the class-leading Accord sedan. With this configuration, the Honda CR-V Hybrid will compete with Toyota Rav4.
The system is good for 212 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. However, here we will find the CVT transmission.
Honda could combine the drivetrain from the conventional model with an electric motor for the new CR-V hybrid. However, we are sure they will use the proven variant.
2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid MPG
With a 2.0-liter Atkinson engine and hybrid combo, we can expect radical boost on the gas mileage for 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid. For example, the standard model is returning 29 mpg combined with the 2.4-liter engine, or 31 mpg with the 1.5-liter mill. The Hybrid is going to add at least 10 mpg on the better record. For Accord Hybrid, this system provides 47/47 mpg in city/on the highway. However, the crossover is heavier and it could drop the mileage for 2-3 miles.
Third Row for 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid
We’ve heard that the new CR-V will get the extra row of seats. However, it is not clear yet if we are getting the entire package, the 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid + the new layout. Since the company spokesmen are going to deliver more details “when the time is right”, it leaves us no choice but to speculate and analyze existing info.
So, at the same time, we found out that European buyers are getting both hybrid and three-row SUV. Could these two changes come together? Well, yes. But it seems like the Honda is making two separated events for these two, meaning the new interior design is for the conventional model. The Japanese carmaker is trying to make it up for European buyers for waiting with CR-V’s release.
2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid Price
We can predict price only by comparing the 2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid with its Accord sedan sibling. The crossover and passenger car has a similar starting price of around $25,000. A hybrid version of Accord is starting from $26,000. However, with some upgrades and Touring package, it reaches $35,000. The Honda CR-V Hybrid could see similar span.
