Hyundai is not wasting too much time. The success of Tucson and Santa Fe SUVs on the US market made the Korean company expand to other classes. A pickup truck is on the way. In the SUV segment, a seven-seat Palisade is already here, and the full-size Grandmaster follows. Hyundai is also entering the premium market with its Genesis brand. The GV80 is the first model, while the 2020 Genesis GV70 could debut as well.
Genesis is a growing brand. Hyundai is testing the market, and it responds nicely. It seems like the branch has a bright future. Well, we will see how everything is going when the GV80 starts selling. It will be a mid-size three-row SUV. The company is already working on a smaller and bigger sibling. The 2020 Genesis GV70 will be the first to arrive. After 2021 the carmaker is going to launch the full-size premium GV90.

2020 Genesis GV70 Release Date
The new 2020 Genesis GV70 is not going to be available before its larger sibling steps on the market. The GV80 is a production-ready premium SUV and it will be out very soon. After that debut, we can think of further moves. Definitely, Hyundai is overhauled with new arrivals. This is going to be the fourth new SUV in a short period of time.
The competition in this segment is more than tough. Lexus RX 350 and Audi Q7 will be the biggest rivals, although Acura RDX and Lincoln Nautilus are also luxury SUVs worth of consideration if you are after mid-size model.
Could the 2020 Genesis GV70 Be a Hybrid?
We are still trying to find out what kind of a drivetrain the 2020 Genesis GV70 is going to use. Probably, the main unit is going to be a V6. In the beginning, the four-cylinder engine with high output is possible. Later, the carmaker could upgrade the GV70 with a V8.
But, the more likely the story is about the hybrid drivetrain. In this case, the new vehicle is definitely going to attract more buyers. On the other hand, it will be greener and more fuel friendly than other Hyundai or Genesis models. Again, the company is not unveiling too many details about this one. However, one thing is sure – sooner or later we will see both Hyundai and Genesis brands with hybrid powertrains.
Styling and Interior
The concept of the new Genesis SUV was presented some while ago. However, the production version is not going to be the same as the prototype. The production-ready 2020 Genesis GV70 will be very similar to the new GV80 and it is also taking some design solutions from the new Palisade. Genesis is also a project that includes cooperation with Kia, so this Korean company will give its best for the luxury SUV. Still, we can’t talk too much since there are no spy photos of the upcoming vehicle.
Anyway, the 2020 Genesis GV70 interior will be on a higher level than the cockpit of the standard Hyundai and Kia models. More leather and advanced safety features will make long trips joyful and comfortable. Interior will definitely offer various connectivity systems, including USB ports, Bluetooth, and of course, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
