The 2020 Ford Puma is an all-new compact crossover. The company confirmed it, and now it is just a matter of time when it will debut. Meanwhile, the new spy photos appeared. The ST model with higher outputs is the latest thing we found out about the upcoming crossover.
The new Puma ST is being tested in Nurburgring. Spy shots are providing new details – such as twin exhaust tips, or lower body. Some of the features are available on other Ford vehicles. For example, Fiesta comes with a similar configuration at the back, and these two vehicles will share the same drivetrain.
2020 Ford Puma ST Specs
The only confirmed drivetrain for the 2020 Ford Puma is a 1.0-liter hybrid engine. Still, we don’t know if the new subcompact crossover is coming to the USA. In this case, it will replace EcoSport. The engine is capable of producing 125 hp and 155 lb-ft of torque. The ST version will get 200 hp from a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol unit.

Will the 2020 Ford Puma be Available in the US?
For now, there are no reports the 2020 Puma could appear in the United States. If this happens, we believe the new crossover is going to replace EcoSport. Ford is not competitive in the subcompact segment. However, this class is not so popular, so there is no surprise why the Blue Oval company pays more attention to other models. Well, the Puma could make an interesting appearance, especially with the turbocharged engine.
Hatchback or Crossover?
Puma nameplate is not completely new for the fans. Ford used this badge for the hatchback 20 years ago. Now, the vehicle is back, but as a crossover. Well, the same platform will underpin both 2020 Ford Puma and Fiesta hatch. Small size promises agility, while the body larger than for hatchback brings better safety.
The 2020 Puma will appear in the UK first. The price of the new model is 21,000 pounds ($27,000) for the high-end Titanium trim. The base price is unknown yet.
