The Ford Company is going to attract its enthusiasts with the new compact-SUV model 2019 Ford Escape. The upcoming model will have now more athletic looks and a stylish interior that will distinguish Escape in a crowd of small crossovers.
In this crowd, only the 2019 Ford Escape will offer its buyers choice to choose three four-cylinder engine options.
2019 Ford Escape – Body and Design
With the new 2019 Ford Escape drivers will get a complete package which means excellent external appearance as well as functional interior. Its front end will become sharper than before with a wider grid and a massive bumper. The air intakes become larger and automatic daylight option is added. Under the hood of the new 2019 Ford Escape is laying three version of engines. The base one will come with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-4 engine that delivers 168 horsepower. This engine will have powerful 170 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm and will be front wheel drive-only. Furthermore, if we look at the current one numbers, this model comes with little better fuel rating of 21/28 mpg in city/highway.
The other two engines will come with a turbocharged inline-4. The first one will have a 1.5-liter engine capable of produces amazing 179 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. It will have a little higher torque of 177 lb-ft at 2,500 rpm.
Furthermore, this one version also comes with FWD system, but there is an optional upgrade to AWD. The EPA city/highway fuel economy of this one is 23/30 mpg (FWD) and 22/28 mpg (AWD).
The last one engine is the powerful one with its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 245 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 275 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm. However, the EPA rating for this one is 22/29 mpg (FWD) and 20/27 mpg (AWD). All engines will be mated to 6-speed SelectShift automatic gearbox. The model can tow maximum 3,500 pounds.
2019 Ford Escape – Price, Debut and Opponents
The 2019 Ford Escape will have pricing that makes it even more competitive in an SUV segment. The low-volume Escape S will be under $24,000, while the high-volume SE and Titanium variants start at around $26,000 and $30,000. If you need more power you can upgrade to the 2.0-liter engine with all-wheel drive that includes tech package and panoramic glass roof. This variant will be in the range from $35,000 to $37,00. Its release date is expected in the middle of 2018.
The model for 2019 will have lots of opponents in this segment, some of them include Chevrolet Equinox, Subaru Forester, Nissan Rogue and also a GMC Terrain.
