The 2019 Ford Escape Energi hybrid will exploit a combination of its standard petrol unit and electric battery from one of the fellow plug-in cars. Gasoline crossover has three options. However, it seems like that 2.0-l EcoBoost 4-cylinder is the favorite to be the main mill for a hybrid combo. Other two, 2.5-liter and 1.5-liter EcoBoost are less likely to be under the hood of the 2019 Escape Energi hybrid.
And what is helping with an EcoBoost powertrain? It is a 10 kW battery pack with a range of 30 miles. This is a record achievement for this segment. With it, the fuel economy will get a boost of 15 miles per gallon. We can expect the 2019 Ford Escape Energi to deliver around 40 MPG and 95 MPGe.

We can see the first spy shots of the 2019 Ford Escape Energi. The vehicle is caught testing. Although overall design is pretty much the same as for the standard model, we can notice some interesting details. The position of the plug-in port is definitely not one of them since it is located exactly where we got used to from Ford.
Dimensions
From the spy photos, experts conclude that the upcoming Ford Escape Energi is wider and longer than its sibling. The mule didn’t unveil much further. However, an increase of dimensions could bring some other significant changes to the lineup. This model should replace the C-Max Energy, but if it is bigger, Escape Energi could take the position in other class.
2019 Ford Escape Energi Release Date and Price Prediction
The 2019 Ford Escape Energi is not coming in next couple of months. Although spy photos and testing mules are telling that development is in final phases, the hybrid SUV will have a debut late in 2018. Nevertheless, the delay is possible, and some experts are telling about the release in 2019 as 2020 season model.
We can compare the prices of other Energi vehicles with their standard siblings. Usually, the cost is $10,000 higher for electrified version. So, if the similar pattern comes with 2019 Ford Escape Energi, we can buy it for about $33,000-$35,000.
