The 2019 Ford Edge is an upcoming midsize-crossover SUV that will be offered with two row of seats. The first model is presented in 2006 as a 2007 model, and from that period the Ford Edge became an important player in Ford`s midsize crossover SUV segment.
The new model will get few modifications. It will now offer three engine variants, front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel-drive system. This model comes with four trims SE, SEL, ST and Titanium.
2019 Ford Edge Aggressive and Stylish Look
The 2019 Ford Edge model is mentioned for familiar people, it can accumulate five passengers. Its 2-row configuration and dimensions granted lots of room for passengers and cargo. The platform on which it is built is called the Ford CD4, and this can be seen also in the Lincoln MKX model. Some changes that designers have made are obvious. The whole appearance is sharper, and the most noticeable changes are on the front side where the headlights get an aggressive shape.
The bumper is also slightly changed and now is bigger and more robust than before. Although the whole look gets a note of aggressiveness, the goal was also to raise the level of luxury. This is achieved by interior solutions.
There was a lot of talk about the extra technology that would be found in the Edge and make it even more practical and interesting. This will depend, however, on trim level, but common to all is the Sync 3 Infotainment system. The model for the 2019 year will come with four trims SE, SEL, ST and the new Titanium Elite package. Some of the best features are a Bluetooth connection, satellite radio, dual-zone automated climate control, rearview camera. All materials in the interior will be premium quality.
2019 Ford Edge Titanium Elite Package
As we have already mentioned early, the model comes with four trims. The company will add new Titanium Elite Package trim in this upcoming model. The Titanium Elite model will be shown for the first time at the Chicago auto show this week. Furthermore, the manufacturer is hoping that will increasing popularity and sales with this package.
The popular Platinum edition is not offered in this year model and the Titanium Elite model sits beneath the ST edition that is also a replacement for the Sport model. The new Titanium Elite package will bring outstanding 20-inch wheels, lower cladding, premium rear skid plate and a full body color sides. We also expect much more in the final version.
2019 Ford Edge Engine Options
Under the hood of the 2019 Ford Edge is three engine variants that power it. You can choose a base model that comes with a lot of techs and is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that is available in SE, SEL and Titanium trim. This variant is capable to produce 245 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 275 lb-ft torque. It comes with standard front-wheel drive system or optional AWD. When it comes to EPA city/highway fuel economy, the model will provide 20/30 mpg (FWD), 21/30 mpg (FWD included start/stop system) and 20/28 mpg with the AWD.
The second one comes with SEL and Titanium trims. This one will have 3.5-liter V6 that makes 280 horsepower. The fuel economy is 18/26 mpg (FWD), 17/25 mpg (AWD).
The final one is a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine giving 315 horsepower. It will come only in ST trim. The EPA rating for this one model is 17/24 mpg. However, the towing capacity of this model is rated at 2,000 pounds. All others trims can easily pull 3,500 pounds. Also, all engines will be coupled to the 6-speed automatic transmission.
2019 Ford Edge Debut, Cost and Rivals
The production of the new 2019 Ford Edge is expected in summer 2018. As for the price, the standard or base model is expected to be slightly priced than predecessor about $30,000. The fully loaded model can easily pass over $47,000. The main rival is Nisan Murano, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and others.
