The newest addition to the Ford’s stable is the small crossover 2019 Ford EcoSport. Positioned just below the popular model Escape, this new model is the main competitor to the Honda HR-V and the Mazda CX-3.
With its lower price and all features that have, no wonder it will be very attractive for young people.
2019 Ford EcoSport – Perfect Small Crossover
The 2019 Ford EcoSport is the small sporty, compact SUV that offers spacious storage space and a snazzy side-hinged rear hatch. The upcoming model will also offer few exterior colors. Some of them are Canyon Ridge, Smoke, Shadow Black, Lighting Blue, Race Red, Silver, White Platinum and Blue Candy.
The changes are evident in the front and rear of the car. This SUV is more aggressive, and the new LED highlights will give it a big plus. However, the new 2019 Ford EcoSport is built on the new B platform. This platform is also used in the Fiesta model and Escape. The wheelbase will now measure 99.2-inch.
Interior and Safety
The interior will also be changed to better. The new model 2019 EcoSport comes with technology that makes driving more fun than ever. The cabin will now get 8-inch LCD touchscreen with pinch-to-zoom navigation. The SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link® services, Fast-charging USB ports and a 110V outlet will be included.
The safety features will be in high-level thanks to Traction control, ESP, 6 Airbags, Rear Parking Sensors, ABS, EBD, Hill Launch Assist System, Front & Rear Seat Belts, Driver Belt Reminder and also an Emergency Brake Warning.
2019 Ford EcoSport – Engine Specification and Gearbox
The model 2019 Ford EcoSport will be powered under the hood with two engine options. The base S model will come with a turbocharged three-cylinder 1.0-liter engine. It will provide 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be connected through a six-speed automatic transmission to the front-wheel drive.
If you decide to go with the all-wheel drive you must add $1500. Also, with this system, you will get a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated inline-four that deliver around 167 horsepower with 149 lb-ft of torque. The fuel economy of both engines is not yet available. However, we know that both engines will come with auto stop-start technology that will significantly improve the fuel economy of this small SUV.
2019 Ford EcoSport – Manufacturer suggested retail price, Debut and Rivals
The new EcoSport model will have few different trims, and of course, the price will vary from each other. The standard variant or S trim will have price among the lowest in its class with $20,990. You can also add tailgate-mounted spare tire in this trim for only $185.
Other trim like SE variant that comes with dual-zone automatic climate control, sunroof, rear parking sensors, heated seats, Sync 3, and infotainment system of 6.5 inches. This package will cost you around $23,900. The final one and most expensive Titanium trim cost $27,735. We don’t have an exact date of release, but from manufacturer words, it will be released early next year.
As we already said at the beginning, the main competitors will be the Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3. There is also a few more in this class which we will separate the Hyundai Creta, Honda BRV, Renault Duster and Toyota C-HR.
