Nowadays, we are in the eleventh generation. The 2019 Chevy Suburban will get some updates, as models in previous four years. No major moves are expected, so the crossover is coming with the same price, dimensions, and specs. New exterior colors are going to refresh the offer next season. Also, update of info- and entertaining systems bring the joy to the interior. Towing capacity, gas mileage, and top speed remains the same since the 2019 Suburban continues to use a 5.3-liter V-8 engine.
2019 Chevy Suburban Specs
So, the big unit is under the hood of the 2019 Chevy Suburban. The same engine is delivering power for the most famous truck from this company – Chevrolet Silverado 1500. However, the pickup has different options besides a 5.3-liter displacement. This is also one of two options for Chevy Tahoe, which additionally offers a 6.2-liter V-8 to its buyers.
For all these vehicles, the engine can produce 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. A six-pace automatic transmission is a sole gearbox attached to the powertrain in 2019 Chevy Suburban. The direct injection system is standard, and the crossover is not so fuel-friendly. With a combined gas mileage of only 19 mpg, the company could consider some other options. On the other hand, engineers will hardly achieve 8,300 pounds of maximum towing capacity.
Diesel
Actually, there are alternatives to the V-8 engine for Chevrolet Suburban. However, these versions are not in the production. For example, a huge 6.6-liter diesel is being used in military, as well as two HD versions. But, a unit using the same fuel type could be the alternative for 2019 Chevy Suburban. There is no further information about it, so everything is a rumor at this point. Stronger indications are coming about the next-gen crossover, which will definitely use a diesel engine. However, this is not happening before 2020.
Hybrid
Another rumor. However, this one could be more likely to happen with next edition of the SUV than diesel. We can already hear about testing results of such drivetrain on GMC Yukon, Suburban’s close sibling, and Chevy Tahoe. Everything seems like the big crossover is also going to get an electric boost. But, lack of information is making us less optimistic about it.
