The popular middle-size SUV Equinox is the first time presented to the public in late 2014 and now is reaching the fourth generation with the newest model 2019 Chevy Equinox.
The upcoming model now comes in the form of compact crossover SUV with refreshed exterior and interior that will host lots of safety for all passengers.
2019 Chevy Equinox – Exterior and Interior Changes
The many things are changed in the new model 2019 Chevy Equinox. The front and the rear of the SUV is now refreshed and looks much more attractive. However, this model is now smaller than the predecessor of around 5.2-inch in wheelbase, but that not change anything in the roomy and comfortable interior. With its sharper lines, tasteful chrome accents, and spot-on proportions the 2019 Chevy Equinox is the most looking vehicle in its class.
The big Chevy grille has got changes over the past couple of years and now looks more attractive. There is also an optional package Redline. This package adds black-out trim and other sporty features. It comes with the new factory-standard projector headlights and LED daytime running lights.
Spacious Interior and Safety Features
Like the exterior, the interior will also get some changes. With its roomy interior, the all five passenger’s will enjoy in a spacious cabin with lots of safety. However, the interior will be available with few upholstery options, which includes a denim-style seat fabric. The new Chevy Equinox comes with upgraded OnStar communication system that includes a 4G LTE and WI-Fi hotspot.
The Chevy MyLink comes connected to the 6.1-inch screen as standard. The options will also include the big 8.0-inch touchscreen that offers the newest version of Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. The navigation with Sirius Traffic is also available as an option.
The model for the 2019 year will get an advanced list of safety features. This includes the forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, automated low-speed braking, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist and also a rearview camera.
2019 Chevy Equinox – Engine Variants and EPA Rating
The base engine of the 2019 Chevy Equinox will come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-4. Furthermore, this engine is capable to produce 170 HP at 5,600 rpm and 203 lb-ft of torque at 2,000-4,000 rpm. With the 6-speed automatic transmission, the model offers decent acceleration. As for the fuel economy, it will have city/highway 26/32 mpg (FWD) and 24/30 mpg (AWD).
The next one variant in this line comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that make 252 HP at 5,500 rpm. However, this model is also fuel efficient with its city/highway fuel economy of 22/29 mpg (FWD), 22/28 mpg (AWD.
The 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel is the last one engine that produces around 137 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with the 9-speed automatic transmission. Its fuel economy in the city/highway is 28/39 mpg (FWD) and 28/38 mpg (AWD).
2019 Chevy Equinox – MSRP and Debut
From some sources, the base 2019 Chevy Equinox L will have MSRP of around $24,500, including the $900 destination charge.
