The 2022 Cadillac Lyriq is the first all-electric SUV by the premium carmaker. It fits other speculations about such models within the GM squad. Rumors about the Hummer EV comeback are predicting its return for 2022 season. General Motors is not going to waste any time and the company will immediately bring a few other crossovers and SUVs, and one of them is the Lyriq luxury model.
While the plans are not classified anymore, all the details are still unknown. It is still early to talk about range and drivetrain, but the GM could give us some hints. In two years, the carmaker can change a lot of things, and in 2022 we could see only a premiere of the luxury SUV.

Autonomous Drive
With the development of the electric engine, the US automotive giant will work on features that will improve the ride. An autonomous drive is one of them. The upcoming 2022 Cadillac Lyriq could get Level 4 when it hits the production. That is a nearly perfect system where human interference is minimal. A few other companies announced skipping Level 3, while the highest level of a self-driving car at this moment is Level 2 for Tesla’s vehicles.

When Will 2022 Cadillac Lyriq Be Available?
The carmaker will probably launch the concept in 2022. However, the production won’t start before 2023. There are a couple of things that could speed up the development. For example, Ford’s premiere of its Mach E electric SUV. It could soon become a premium unit for Lincoln lineup.

We are also thinking about investments in some of the existing startups. For example, Bollinger B2 reminds us of the Hummer, but in the form of a truck. If the GM can use its idea and place it inside the upcoming 2022 Cadillac Lyriq, it would be a great hit. The electric unit should burst 615 hp and 690 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough to compete against Tesla Model X. However, Cadillac could downgrade the outputs to make the Lyriq more affordable.
