Hybrid Engine is a Priority

Updates are always welcome. Still, the XT5 is pretty fresh, being launched only a couple of years ago. What makes GM developing the new generation so soon? The competition. The biggest lack of both XT5 and XT6 is any type of an electric source of power. General Motors, as a leader in the market, knows the future brings a lot of questions without hybrid drivetrains.

According to Johan de Nysschen, CEO of Cadillac, the company will develop electric units for 20 vehicles by 2023. Shortly after these words, de Nysschen resigned from the position. But, the plans are still there. Further details from other sources suggest the new XT5 could be an all-electric crossover with the range of 400 miles. Well, this is clear speculation. It is hard to believe that Cadillac is going to deliver the class-leading model in its first attempt.
