The new 2020 Cadillac Escalade will switch architecture also. Designers will use Escala platform to build it. This concept appeared more than a year ago, and its first production vehicle is going to be Caddy Escalade. Although the sedan presented it, the crossover is the first to get Escala platform in function.
Main characteristics are curvier design and longer body. It adds 6.5 inches to the existing Escalade. Wheelbase gets extra 4.7 inches and the SUV will be 2.7 inches wider. The concept is making all Cadillac vehicles more elegant and stylish. With it, Escalade and CT sedans will be able to compete for German companies and their luxurious cars.
2020 Cadillac Escalade Takes V-8 Engine, Hybrid Comes With Delay
Engineers of the 2020 Cadillac Escalade will have to choose. Most rumors are speaking of a 4.0-liter displacement. However, recent reports are saying that 4.2-liter unit is being tested. Whatsoever, both of them are V-8 engines. Outputs are still unknown. Another certain part of the drive system is a 10-speed automatic transmission. The gearbox will distribute power to rear wheels, or it will use AWD setup if buyers want that configuration.
The company also announced plans to build a plug-in hybrid drivetrain for 2020 Escalade. Initial schedule was to launch it a year after the new generation debuts. With a delay caused by slow development, we can assume that hybrid model will come in 2021.
Customized 2020 Cadillac Escalade Will Burst 800 hp!
Back in 2015, Hennessey launched a special version of Escalade tuned to deliver 550 hp. The next crossover will just smile on that. The latest spy shots confirm that this company is after something big, and it could be 800hp rated SUV. How is it possible? With HPE800 tuning that boosts outputs to 805 horses and 830 lb-ft of torque. This amount of power can make 2020 Cadillac Escalade sprint as the Chevy Camaro, rated at 650 hp. Well, we don’t have to say that weight is a big downside of the hug crossover. Nevertheless, we hope to see this one out in 2020.
